What Essential Oils Should I Use For My Hair?
With so many essential oils out there to choose from, it can be a little daunting to know which ones to use to promote healthy hair.
Common Hair Problems
Fragile Hair
Clary Sage, Lavender, Thyme, Sandalwood, Wintergreen, Roman Chamomile
Promote Growth
Thyme, Lavender, Rosemary, Yang Ylang, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Geranium, Ginger, Lemon, Grapefruit
Loss
Rosemary, Lavender, Thyme, Yang Ylang, Cedarwood, Wintergreen, Lemon, Clary Sage, Cypress, Roman Chamomile
You may notice the same oil on all three of these lists or just on a couple of them. When I am making my hair mask, I like to look at all three lists and choose oils that appear on all three or at least two of them. That way, I know I am getting the best benefit from one oil. I just seems economical and efficient to me. I also like to change the oils I use whenever I make a new batch. Play with it. See what oils you enjoy the most. We are all different, so what works best for one, may not be what works best for another. Have fun!
One of my very favourite resources is the book “Modern Essentials.” It contains suggestions, scientific research, specific information about individual essential oils, recipes, and so much more! This is my first go-to resource when it comes to essential oils. You can purchase it online from aromatools.com (in U.S. funds and will ship from the U.S.) or contact me at hopenaturalwellness.ca to find out how to either get a discount (in Canadian funds) on your book or even how get a free book!
